SARASOTA, Fla. – The man who robbed a Wells Fargo bank on Wednesday in Sarasota, has been arrested.

“Thanks to the hard work of our detectives and our collaboration with the FBI and U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, our bank robber is in custody. Michael Forsythe was captured in Orlando within 24 hours after he robbed the Wells Fargo on Bee Ridge Road,” said Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported bank robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank at 3625 Bee Ridge Road around 9:45 am on Wednesday.

Deputies say Forsythe entered the bank and demanded cash from a teller. During the interaction, the suspect implied he was armed with a gun.

Forsythe was given cash and exited the bank, heading eastbound on foot, and was apprehended on Thursday by the collaborative effort of law enforcement.
