Savannah Guthrie released an emotional video plea on Monday addressing the individuals responsible for the abduction of her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was taken from her Tucson, Arizona, home on Feb. 1.
The video, shared to Instagram on July 27, comes nearly six months after the disappearance. The 54-year-old Today show co-anchor noted that she had a “very specific message” to share and highlighted the lack of progress in identifying suspects.
“It has been months since our mom was taken from us,” Guthrie said in the video. “Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end. Nothing about our situation has changed.”
Speaking on behalf of herself and her siblings, Annie Guthrie and Camron Guthrie, she added, “We have done our part, and we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts.”
Addressing the captors directly, Guthrie appealed for information regarding her mother’s location.
“The world can be a cruel and unforgiving place, and I know that you have tried to do things the right way. So I’m asking you, begging you to do the right thing now. Make the right choice. Help us find her, tell us where to look for her. I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing. Help us bring this situation to an end for all of us,” Guthrie said. She concluded her message by stating, “No matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, I believe there is always a way home. Please make the right choice.”
To date, no suspects have been named in Nancy Guthrie’s abduction. The investigation is being conducted jointly by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI.
Authorities previously released doorbell camera footage depicting a masked intruder entering the victim’s residence, but the individual remains unidentified.
