ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – It’s with great sadness that we report that 2-year-old Taylen Mosley has been found dead.

Thomas Mosley, the boy’s father, has been charged with two counts of murder for Taylen and his 20-year-old mother, Pashun Jeffrey.

St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said the search ended Friday when investigators spotted an alligator with something in its mouth. An officer fired a shot at the alligator when they realized it was a child’s body.

Holloway said officers confirmed the body was that of 2-year-old Taylen Mosley and officers were able to retrieve Taylen’s body intact.

Police also added that a blood trail led to the apartment where Pashun was discovered.

St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway said, “I can tell you it’s a very violent homicide scene within the apartment, but we cannot find the 2-year-old, so right now, that is our main concern.”
