HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Highway Patrol troopers are asking for the public’s help to locate a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash late Saturday night on US-92.
The incident occurred around 10:37 p.m., just east of Mobile Villa Drive. According to investigators, a vehicle traveling westbound drifted onto the highway shoulder and struck a 38-year-old bicyclist who was also riding westbound.
The collision proved fatal for the bicyclist, a man from Nicaragua, who died at the scene of the crash.

Instead of stopping to help, the driver sped away. Troopers have described the suspect vehicle as a mid-sized SUV, possibly silver or dark in color.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident or the vehicle’s whereabouts to come forward immediately. Witnesses can report tips by calling the Florida Highway Patrol at *FHP (*347) or by contacting Crime Stoppers at **TIPS.
