Search Underway For Two USF Doctoral Students Reported Missing In Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. – Detectives with the University of South Florida Police Department (USFPD) and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) are requesting public assistance in locating two missing adults last seen in the Tampa area on April 16, 2026.

Zamil Limon, 27, a USF doctoral student studying geography, environmental science, and policy, was last seen at approximately 9:00 a.m. at his residence located at 13612 Avalon Heights Blvd. in Tampa. HCSO documented the missing person report, and authorities stated there has been no confirmed contact with Limon since that time.

Nahida S. Bristy, 27, also a USF doctoral student specializing in chemical engineering, was last seen at approximately 10:00 a.m. the same day.

She was spotted at the NES Building at 121 USF Sweetgum Lane on the university’s Tampa campus. USFPD is handling the missing person report for Bristy.

The investigation began on April 17, 2026, at approximately 4:50 p.m., when a family friend notified campus police after being unable to reach either individual. Both students have since been entered into the FCIC/NCIC missing persons databases.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Zamil Limon or Nahida S. Bristy is asked to contact the USFPD at (813) 974-2628. Authorities indicated that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
