TAMPA, Fla. – Who knows? Maybe Alex Golesh will also return to Raymond James Stadium to ring in the new year with a date in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
First things first and that is the former USF coach will return to Tampa for SEC media days that get underway with a fan fest Sunday evening, July 19. Each of the conference’s 16 teams will be represented by the head coach and three players during media sessions over the next few days. Presumably, that will mean a return engagement for Byrum Brown and perhaps another of the many former Bulls that joined Golesh at Auburn.
Regardless, college football will dominate the landscape for the entire week on both sides of the bay. The SEC will take up residence at the Marriott Water Street in downtown Tampa and the American Conference will hold its two-day media event beginning Thursday, July 23 at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront.
More details, including attending players, will appear in this space as they become available from the respective conferences. Golesh is scheduled to meet the media at an undetermined time Tuesday, July 21. New Gators’ coach Jon Sumrall will assume the dais the following day.
Brian Hartline and two USF players will be part of the proceedings in St. Pete. A Kickoff experience will provide fans access to coaches and players from each of the 14 American teams.
