Responding officers quickly arrived on the scene near W. Carmen Street and N. Oregon Avenue. There, they located the caller, a Black male in his early 30s, who was still armed. Nearby, at the intersection of W. Gray Street and N. Oregon Avenue, officers discovered another Black male, in his late 40s, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds next to the caller’s vehicle.

Officers immediately began life-saving measures, but despite their efforts and those of Tampa Fire Rescue, the victim succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

The caller remained cooperative at the scene, surrendering his firearm to investigators.
