HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Traffic has ground to a halt for commuters on Interstate 75 this Thursday afternoon following a crash involving a tractor-trailer. Florida Highway Patrol troopers arrived at the scene near milepost 256 around 2:20 PM to find the large rig obstructing the southbound lanes.
Emergency crews are currently on-site working to clear the wreckage and remove the trailer from the roadway.
The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the ongoing investigation and recovery efforts in a brief statement: “FHP Troopers are investigating a crash involving a tractor-trailer, southbound on I-75 near the 256 Milepost. Crews continue to work to remove the obstruction.”
Authorities have not yet released information regarding the cause of the accident or whether any injuries were sustained.
However, motorists traveling through the area should expect significant delays for the remainder of the afternoon as the scene is cleared. Drivers are being encouraged to seek alternate routes or allow for extra travel time while the bottleneck persists.
