PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children (CAC) Unit have arrested a Seminole man for possession of child pornography and transmission of child pornography.
According to investigators, on May 16, 2022, detectives began an investigation after receiving information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that child pornography was being uploaded via the internet.
Through various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect as 36-year-old Robert Gorby Jr, who is currently on drug offender probation.

Detectives continued their investigation over the course of several months and, through various investigative techniques, located several files of child pornography on Gorby Jr.’s internet account. Detectives say the images were of children between the ages of eight to twelve years old.
On July 18, 2023, detectives arrested Gorby Jr. at his scheduled probation appointment and charged him with one Count of Possession of Child Pornography, one Count of Possession of Child Pornography with Intent to Promote, one Count of Transmission of Child Pornography, and four Counts of Violation of Probation.
When detectives attempted to interview Gorby Jr., he refused to cooperate. Gorby Jr. was transported to the Pinellas County Jail.
