PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Seminole teenager involved in a collision while riding an electric bicycle last week has succumbed to his injuries.
Caidyn Reese Knuth, 19, of Seminole, died on Saturday, October 18, at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, three days after the crash.
The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, at the intersection of 32nd Avenue North and Hartford Street North. According to authorities, Knuth was riding an electric bicycle southbound on Hartford Street North. At the same time, a grey Ford F-150 driven by Charles Earle Billue, 44, of St. Petersburg, was traveling eastbound on 32nd Avenue North and pulling a lawn trailer.
The electric bicycle reportedly collided with the side of the lawn trailer at the intersection. Knuth was thrown from the bicycle and transported to the hospital with serious injuries, where he later passed away.
The driver of the Ford F-150, Charles Earle Billue, remained at the scene following the collision and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
