PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – An 85-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a backing utility trailer in a Seminole neighborhood Thursday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident happened at approximately 10:15 a.m. on June 4, 2026. Investigators report that a 57-year-old Seminole man was operating a Toyota Tundra that was towing an enclosed utility trailer. The driver was backing the truck and trailer westbound on Bellewood Avenue North.
As the vehicle approached the intersection of 136th Street North, the enclosed trailer struck the elderly woman, who was walking eastbound along the very edge of the roadway.
State troopers confirmed that the 85-year-old Seminole resident suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash. FHP has not released the names of the driver or the victim, and the incident remains under investigation.
