A 73-year-old Cape Coral resident has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for transmitting online threats against federal law enforcement officers, federal officials announced.
U.S. District Judge Kyle Dudek ordered Joseph Rocco Giancola to serve the prison term, to be followed by three years of supervised release, for making interstate communications of threats to injure. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe announced the sentence.
Giancola entered a guilty plea to the charge on March 26, 2026.
Court records show that on August 6, 2025, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel identified threats posted on the social media platform BlueSky under the account handle @caindelonbsky.social.
A subsequent investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) identified Giancola as the individual behind the account.
Investigators determined that Giancola posted multiple messages targeting federal agents between May and July 2025. Among the posts cited in court records were statements including “Just shoot ice to kill,” “Get your guns and kill the ice nazis,” “They come near me and I shoot to kill,” and “Band together in neighborhoods, arm the band, and kill these gestapo fucks. A few massacres and they will stop coming.”
Other messages read “Shoot the ICE Nazis down like the rabid dogs they are,” “Let there be blood – MAGA blood and lots of it… We should be shooting down ICE Proud Boys like the rabid dogs they are,” and “I’ll shoot to kill.”
HSI agents executed a federal search warrant at Giancola’s Cape Coral home on October 30, 2025. Upon entering the residence, agents found Giancola in his bedroom with an unlocked computer displaying the logged-in @caindelonbsky.social BlueSky account on the monitor.
During the sentencing hearing, the Court held Giancola accountable for transmitting more than two true threats directed at official victims based on their employment status.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from the Cape Coral Police Department, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney Matthew Redavid prosecuted the case.
