TAMPA, Fla. – A shooting near the intersection of North O’Brien Street and West Spruce Street near the Tampa International Airport has left a man hospitalized with serious injuries.
The Tampa Police Department responded to the scene shortly after noon today following reports of gunfire. Preliminary information suggests that two men were involved in a heated argument that escalated into a shooting.

The suspect is described as an adult black male with long dreads, wearing a black beanie, black jacket, and pants of an unknown color. He was also seen pulling a roller bag.
The victim, an adult Hispanic male in his late 40s, was transported to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He is currently listed in serious condition.
Although the incident did not occur on airport property, Tampa International Airport Police assisted with the initial response and traffic control. Westbound traffic along Spruce Street was temporarily redirected while officers investigated the scene. All lanes have since reopened.

Tampa Police detectives are actively investigating the shooting, gathering evidence, and developing leads to identify and locate the suspect.
