Shots Fired In Nokomis: BMW And Bronco Flees Scene, Person Of Interest Identified

Search Underway for Shooters After Vehicles Flee Scene

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – The streets of Nokomis were disrupted by gunfire on Saturday, at approximately 7:32 PM, as the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into a shooting that occurred in the vicinity of Turner Street and Church Street.

Authorities report that two vehicles involved in the incident, a black BMW and a green Chevy Bronco, quickly fled the scene after shots rang out.

The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section is actively working the case. While details are still emerging, investigators have successfully identified a person of interest in connection with the shooting. However, this individual is not currently in custody.
