TAMPA, Fla. – Clear skies and rising temperatures are the primary story for the Tampa Bay area as a week of heat begins. Forecasters expect mostly clear conditions tonight with a low around 64 degrees and light west winds that will become calm as the evening progresses.
Sunday will bring full sunshine and a high near 87. Variable morning winds are expected to shift to the west at 5 to 10 mph by the afternoon. The clear trend continues Sunday night with a low of 66.
The heat intensifies on Monday, with temperatures climbing to a high near 90. While the day will remain mostly sunny, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Light winds will shift from calm to north-northeast at 6 mph during the afternoon. Monday night remains clear with a low around 65.
Tuesday is projected to be the hottest day of the early week, reaching a high near 92 under sunny skies. Evening lows will settle around 65.

Temperatures will stay elevated through Wednesday and Friday, with highs oscillating between 88 and 91 degrees.
A shift in the pattern arrives by Saturday, which brings a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Despite the potential for rain, it will remain mostly sunny with a high near 88 and breezy conditions.
