Small Plane Crashes In Land O’ Lakes Grand Oaks Subdivision

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Residents of the Grand Oaks subdivision were shaken Sunday morning when a twin-engine plane plummeted into their neighborhood, leaving at least one person dead and a home scorched.

The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office reported that the aircraft went down around 8:30 a.m.

Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to the 4900 block of Trinidad Drive following reports of the downed plane. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) identified the aircraft involved as a Cessna 401B. Although the crash sparked a fire, responding crews extinguished the flames shortly after arrival.

First responders confirmed that at least one person died in the accident. While the plane did not hit any residents on the ground, the fire spread to at least one nearby house, causing visible damage to the structure.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board have been notified and will lead the investigation to determine what caused the twin-engine aircraft to crash.

Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased or the flight’s point of origin.
