Smoke And Chaos In Spring Hill: Asian Massage Business Gutted After Morning Fire

SPRING HILL, Fla. – A massive response from Hernando County Fire Rescue (HCFR) descended on a local shopping center Tuesday morning after a fire tore through a Spring Hill storefront, sending one person to the hospital and damaging several neighboring units.

The call came in on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, for the Asian Massage Therapy located at 7243 Forest Oaks Blvd.

When crews pulled up to the large strip mall, they were met with thick, heavy smoke pouring out of the front doors of the establishment.

Firefighters didn’t waste any time, immediately attacking the flames while other teams scrambled to evacuate the businesses on either side of the shop.

Fortunately, crews confirmed early on that everyone inside the massage therapy center had made it out of the building safely. It took about 20 minutes of aggressive work for firefighters to bring the situation under control.

While the fire was contained to the original unit, the two adjacent businesses didn’t escape unscathed, sustaining significant smoke and water damage.

One civilian was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation and transported to a local hospital in stable condition.

No firefighters were injured during the operation. After an initial investigation, officials determined the fire started in a dryer in the laundry room and quickly spread through the rest of the business.
