Florida is officially kicking off the scramble for one of the most sought-after outdoor opportunities in the state. Starting this Friday, May 8, at 10 a.m. ET, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will begin accepting applications for both the Statewide Alligator Harvest Program and the Alligator Super Hunt.
For those looking to secure a spot in the traditional Statewide Alligator Harvest, there is no need to rush the digital gates the moment they open.
Officials confirmed that every application submitted between May 8 and May 18 will be entered into a random drawing with an equal chance of selection.
Under this specific program, applicants are limited to one submission. If their name is pulled, they are permitted to harvest two alligators within a specific assigned county or management unit.

The Alligator Super Hunt offers a different set of rules for hunters seeking more flexibility. Unlike the standard harvest, the Super Hunt allows individuals to submit and pay for multiple entries to boost their odds in the drawing.
Winners of this permit are granted the ability to hunt in most alligator management units and counties across the state. While the standard harvest application window is brief, the Super Hunt applications will stay open through June 18.
Prospective hunters have a few ways to get their names in the hat. Applications can be processed in person at any county tax collector’s office or through an authorized license agent. For those preferring to skip the commute, the state is also accepting entries online at GoOutdoorsFlorida.com.
