ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – An early morning call about a man apparently passed out in a luxury car quickly escalated into a major drug and weapons bust, culminating in the arrest of Eric Stallings, 23, who now faces a litany of felony charges.
The unusual scene unfolded at approximately 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Zura Apts., 225 73rd Avenue North, when a concerned citizen called police about a man asleep inside a Rolls-Royce with the door wide open.
When officers arrived, they found Stallings asleep behind the wheel. They also found a shocking array of illegal items in plain view.
According to the police report, the initial observation of various illegal drugs quickly expanded into a full-scale search, revealing a disturbing inventory.
Inside the luxury vehicle, officers allegedly recovered multiple firearms, knives, various types of illegal drugs, and several bags of hallucinogenic mushrooms.
The situation took a volatile turn as officers attempted to take Stallings into custody. The suspect reportedly attempted to flee, knocking down and injuring one of the arresting officers in the struggle.
Stallings has been booked on multiple charges, including possession of controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon during the commission of a felony, and battery on a law enforcement officer.
