Social Media Selfie Snaps Wisconsin Woman Accused Of Drugging, Robbing Men In Florida

A Wisconsin woman is facing multiple felony charges after Florida authorities accused her of spending several days drugging men she met at local establishments to steal tens of thousands of dollars in high-end jewelry and designer clothing.

Deziree Nicole Hood, 20, was arrested on Saturday and charged with two counts of grand theft and one count of false imprisonment. According to Miami-Dade police, the charges stem from two separate incidents that occurred earlier this month.

The first incident took place on May 16 at the Candlewood Suites Hotel in Virginia Gardens. According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, a male victim told investigators that he met with Hood at the hotel for drinks. The victim stated that after Hood handed him a beverage, he “began feeling disoriented, dizzy and unable to remember subsequent events.”

When the man woke up, his Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch, valued at $14,000, was missing. A subsequent medical blood test on the victim came back positive for benzodiazepines. Investigators stated the drug was administered without the victim’s knowledge or consent. Police later discovered a selfie posted to Hood’s social media accounts that allegedly showed her wearing the stolen Rolex.

A second incident was reported on May 21 at the W Miami hotel on Brickell Avenue. A different victim told police he met Hood at a club and returned to the hotel with her around 3 a.m. The two drank until approximately 6 a.m., at which point the victim fell asleep.

The victim awoke at 10 a.m. to find Hood gone, along with $60,000 worth of his designer clothing and jewelry. Hotel security footage allegedly captured Hood leaving the building at 7:30 a.m. carrying a large bag.

After the victim’s attempts to contact Hood via phone and Instagram went unanswered, detectives utilized the phone number to identify her. The victim subsequently identified Hood in a photographic lineup.

Following her arrest, Hood was booked into the Miami-Dade Jail. Jail records indicate she has since posted bond. Her next scheduled court appearance has not yet been listed.
