Senator Lindsey Graham demands accountability, pushing back against accusations of distraction amidst Epstein controversy.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) appeared on NBC’s “Meet the Press” this morning, engaging in a heated exchange with moderator Kristen Welker regarding his persistent calls for an investigation into the Obama administration’s handling of intelligence related to the 2016 election.
While stopping short of directly accusing former President Barack Obama of treason, Graham asserted that new information necessitates a closer look at the origins of the “Trump-Russia collusion” narrative.

During the interview, Welker pressed Graham, asking if his efforts were an attempt to “rewrite history to distract from the Epstein matter.” Graham vehemently denied the accusation. “No,” he responded, “I am trying to let you know and the media know that we found something we didn’t know before.”
Graham elaborated on his concerns, drawing a stark contrast between the Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s findings regarding alleged Trump-Russia collusion and what he claims are emerging details.
“Mr. Mueller also said there was no credible evidence that President Trump colluded with the Russians,” Graham stated. “For years, and months, and days, and weeks, people had their lives turned upside down, chasing the Mueller narrative that Trump was in bed with the Russians, that the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians.”

He then pivoted to place blame on the Hillary Clinton campaign and Christopher Steele about the manufactured document, the Steele Dossier, to obtain warrants against Carter Page, based on “lies and falsehoods.”
“The only people colluding with the Russians were the Hillary Clinton campaign and Christopher Steele manufacturing a document to get warrants against Carter Page, based on lies and falsehoods,” Graham declared. He continued to advocate for a “special counsel model” to investigate what he termed “something new” that has been uncovered.

While Graham explicitly stated, “I’m not calling for prosecution against President Obama for treason,” his insistence on an investigation into the prior administration’s actions surrounding the 2016 election suggests a continued effort to challenge the established narrative of Russian interference and its impact.
