POLK COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old Davenport man faces a reckless driving charge after a Polk County sheriff’s deputy caught him spinning donuts in a 1991 Nissan Sentra at an intersection on Saturday evening, briefly shutting down traffic.
The incident happened around 7:39 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the intersection of US 27 and Student Drive in Davenport. A patrolling deputy watched as the older-model Nissan Sentra pulled directly into the crossroads and began squealing its tires while spinning around in tight circles.
According to the sheriff’s office, the stunt disrupted the normal flow of traffic in the area, forcing other drivers to wait.
The deputy immediately pulled the vehicle over and identified the driver as Gavin Salonga Olsowsky. After being stopped, Olsowsky apologized for his actions, telling the deputy he “wasn’t thinking.”
Olsowsky was arrested on the spot and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center. Records show he is charged with reckless driving, which is a second-degree misdemeanor.
