HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla - A 73-year-old Spring Hill man has died after a medical emergency forces him to lost control of his SUV and colliding with a tree.

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla – A 73-year-old Spring Hill man has died after a medical emergency forced him to lose control of his SUV and collided with a tree.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, around 2:20 pm Thursday, while exiting a private driveway onto Golddust Road, north of Cobra Street, the suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his SUV.

Troopers say the vehicle entered the east shoulder and collided with a tree.

The man was transported to an area hospital, but later passed away.

The passenger in the SUV, a 77-year-old Spring Hill woman, suffered no injuries in the crash.
