Spring Hill Man Fatally Struck By Multiple Vehicles On US-19

HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A 75-year-old Spring Hill man died early Monday morning after being struck by several vehicles while attempting to cross US-19. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 4:38 AM on March 16, 2026, just south of Long Lake Avenue.

The initial collision involved a Ford F-350 towing a trailer, which was traveling southbound in the outside lane. Investigators stated that the pedestrian entered the path of the truck and was struck. The driver of the F-350, a 47-year-old man from Tennessee, remained at the scene.

Following the first impact, the pedestrian was subsequently struck by several other vehicles.

FHP investigators believe these additional vehicles may include a white sedan and a black SUV. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers are seeking witnesses or anyone who may have been driving in the area at the time.

“Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call *FHP (*347),” the agency requested.
