HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. – A tragic accident at the intersection of Ayers Road and US-41 resulted in the death of a Spring Hill motorcyclist on Thursday afternoon.
According to authorities, a Chevy Equinox driven by a 44-year-old man from Brooksville was traveling eastbound on Ayers Road around 4:07 pm. A Honda motorcycle, operated by a 45-year-old Spring Hill man, was heading westbound on the same road.
The crash occurred when the driver of the Chevy Equinox attempted to make a left turn at the intersection of US-41, crossing into the path of the oncoming motorcycle.

The two vehicles collided, resulting in the motorcyclist suffering fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Equinox was unharmed in the incident.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. The names of those involved have not been released.
