WESLEY CHAPEL, FL. – Due to the weather forecast, this weekend’s closure of SR 56 at I-75 has been postponed. The work and closures will NOT happen this weekend.
“We are coordinating with the contractor to reschedule and will let you know the new date when it is determined,” FDOT said in a statement.
“The decision to postpone the work was tough. To safely convert to a diverging diamond interchange requires a significant work effort and time period with dry roadways to install all the new pavement striping and markings.”
“While the plan was to do many of the other work items in the rain, our monitoring of this weekend’s weather forecast ultimately did not provide enough confidence that the necessary sufficient dry periods would be available,” FDOT concluded.
