St. Pete Probationary Police Officer Fired After Using A Texas Victims Credit Card Online

SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg Police Probationary Officer Jonathan Cain was arrested by Pinellas Park Police last night for using a woman’s personal information to place an online order and charging it to her credit card.

Police say the victim resides in Texas.

When Pinellas Park Police notified St. Petersburg Police that Cain was under investigation this week, he was placed on administrative leave without pay, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Cain turned himself in on Wednesday night and was terminated from employment at the St. Petersburg Police Dept. last night.

Cain, age 25,  was sworn in on August 17, 2020. Investigators say that due to his probationary status and the arrest, he was terminated without an internal investigation and/or Board hearing.
