At approximately noon St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the 4100 block of 10th St NE for reports of the back of a house on fire.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – At approximately noon St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the 4100 block of 10th St NE for reports of the back of a house on fire.

Neighbors noticed smoke coming from the vents on the roof of a home and immediately called 911, while also knocking on the door to check if anyone was home.

Officials say the family was away with the family pet.

Crews arrived and immediately found the fire as it was making its way into the attic and extinguished the fire before it spread throughout the home.

The family was notified by the neighbors and returned to their home. The fire investigator is on the scene collecting information.

The cause is not yet determined.
