ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Charles Teal, a 46-year-old St. Petersburg resident, has been charged with second-degree homicide in connection with the fatal shooting of 42-year-old Deon Bell.
The incident occurred on December 18th, 2024, at approximately 8:30 AM at Kings Meat Market on 1345 34th St. S.
St. Petersburg Police responded to the scene and found Bell suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Bayfront Health, where he was later pronounced dead.

Teal was initially arrested on December 19th on charges of violation of probation and felon in possession of a firearm. The second-degree homicide charge was added on January 3rd, 2025, while Teal was already in custody.
The St. Petersburg Police Department is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
