St. Petersburg Man In Critical Condition After Late-Night Shooting

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – St. Petersburg Police Detectives are actively investigating the attempted homicide of a local man who was found shot and bleeding in his home late Thursday night.

The victim, identified as Jerome Smith, 44, was found at his residence at 833 21st Avenue South after a neighbor called police at 8:47 p.m. on Thursday, October 30th.

Upon arrival, officers discovered that Smith had suffered a gunshot wound but was still alive. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police confirmed that no one else was present in the home at the time of the incident.

The St. Petersburg Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation. Detectives are asking anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the area or has knowledge about the shooting to contact the police.
