St. Petersburg Police Arrest Northeast High Student, Facing Multiple Charges

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A 16-year-old student at Northeast High School was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after authorities discovered a firearm in his backpack.

According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, the 11th-grade boy was arrested on campus without incident. Investigators confirmed that the student did not display the weapon or make any threats toward staff or other students.

The teen is now facing several serious charges, including Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and Delinquent in Possession of a Firearm. Officers also noted that the arrest constitutes a Violation of Supervised Release.

Following the arrest, the St. Petersburg Police Department reiterated that student safety is its primary concern. Officials warned that any reports of weapons on school grounds will be thoroughly investigated, reminding that such violations carry severe consequences.
