St. Petersburg Police Launch Investigation Into Suspicious House Fire That Killed 18-Year-Old

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A fatal house fire on Neptune Drive SE early Sunday morning has claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman and left another victim in critical condition. St. Petersburg Fire Rescue responded to the 3900 block at 3:30 a.m. on March 22, finding a residence with four occupants inside at the time the blaze began.

Authorities identified the deceased as Angelina Anderson, whose 18th birthday was just five days prior to the incident.

Among the survivors, a 35-year-old woman remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Two minors were also present in the home during the fire; both were treated for smoke inhalation at a local hospital and have since been released.

The St. Petersburg Police Department has launched an investigation into the matter, as the cause of the fire is currently considered suspicious.

No arrests have been made, and officials have not yet released details regarding the origin of the flames. The scene remained under investigation through the morning as detectives worked to determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal event.
