ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The City of St. Petersburg is hosting a week-long series of events aimed at helping seniors reduce their risk of falls. From September 23rd to 27th, the Sunshine Senior Center will be the hub for “Falls Prevention Week,” offering activities and education on how to stay safe and active.
The program includes a variety of sessions, such as exercise classes like Ageless Grace and Tai Chi demonstrations, educational talks on neuropathy and falls prevention, and even a fun field trip to a Falls Prevention Lab. There will also be resource fairs and a bingo and trivia session focused on falls prevention.

The Sunshine Senior Center and the National Council on Aging are dedicated to helping older adults age well and avoid falls. This week-long event is a fantastic chance for seniors and their caregivers to learn valuable tips and techniques to prevent falls and maintain their independence.
