ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Drivers using eastbound Gandy Boulevard will need to plan for night detours this week as access ramps to Interstate 275 close for scheduled work.
The eastbound Gandy Boulevard (State Road 694) entrance ramps onto northbound and southbound I-275 are set to close from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 5, and Thursday, Aug. 6. Officials noted the schedule depends on weather conditions.
Transportation officials released specific detour paths for both directions during the overnight closures:
Southbound I-275 Detour: Drivers heading east on Gandy Boulevard should take the exit for 94th Avenue N / 16th Street N, turn left onto 94th Avenue N under Gandy Boulevard, and turn left again at 16th Street N onto westbound Gandy Boulevard. From there, motorists will use the loop ramp to access southbound I-275.
Northbound I-275 Detour: Drivers continuing east on Gandy Boulevard should exit at S. Frontage Road, make a left on 4th Street N, and turn left onto N. Frontage Road. Drivers will then turn right onto westbound Roosevelt Boulevard (State Road 686) before taking the right entrance ramp onto northbound I-275.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time through the area during work hours.
