TAMPA, Fla. – The Bulls meet former Conference USA, Big East, and American foe Louisville on Thursday afternoon (1:30/TNT) in what will be their sixth all-time NCAA tournament game.
Coach Bryan Hodgson brings an exciting USF squad team to Buffalo, one that is at or near the top nationally in a handful of categories. Here is a glimpse at some of the team and individual numbers the Bulls boast with a little program history mixed in.
1 – Times the Bulls won their conference regular season and tournament titles, which they did this season.
2—All-time NCAA tourney wins. Both were in the spring of 2012 against Cal (65-54) in the first round and Temple (58-44) in the second round before Stan Heath’s Bulls lost to Ohio (62-56) in the Sweet 16.
4 – This season marks the Bulls’ fourth appearance in the NCAA tournament.
5 – Players averaging double-digit points per game: Wes Enis (16.8), Izaiyah Nelson (15.7), Joseph Pinion (14.2), Josh Omojafo (11.5) and C.J. Brown (11.1).
6 – Previous NCAA appearances for Bryan Hodgson as an assistant under Nate Oats at Buffalo (3) and Alabama (3).

33 – Previous meetings with Louisville. The Bulls are 4-29. The teams last met during the 2013-14 season, the American’s first season and the Cardinals’ lone season in the conference before moving to the ACC.

42.7 – Rebounds per game, a figure that is good for second nationally behind Florida’s 45.4.
67 – The most points the Bulls scored in their five previous NCAA tourney games. Bobby Paschall’s squad lost to Arizona, 79-67, in a first-round game in 1990.
87.7 – Points the Bulls are averaging, which is good for eighth in the nation. The program record is 83.8 established in the inaugural season of 1971-72.
