Stolen Jeep Leads To Drug Charges And Arrests For Florida Duo In Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested two people early Wednesday morning after stopping a stolen vehicle near Gerber Dairy Road.

According to law enforcement, deputies spotted a white Jeep traveling on Bomber Road around 1:30 a.m. on August 5, 2026. The vehicle had previously been reported stolen to the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the Jeep near the intersection of Gerber Dairy Road and identified the driver as 33-year-old Vianca Bruno and the passenger as 39-year-old Thomas Christopher Goodwin. During the stop, deputies discovered methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

Both were taken into custody and transported to the Sheriff’s Processing Center.

Bruno faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while license suspended or revoked. Goodwin was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
