LAKELAND, Fla. – A traffic stop for a missing license plate on a motorcycle has led to the arrest of a Lakeland man on multiple charges, including dealing in stolen property and drug possession.

On September 11th, detectives with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office were conducting an investigation near West Highland Street in Lakeland when they saw a motorcycle being driven without a license plate. A traffic stop was initiated, and upon closer inspection, a detective noticed the motorcycle appeared to have a fresh coat of yellow paint.

The driver was identified as 32-year-old Dustin Ray Anzualda, of Lakeland.

According to authorities, Anzualda’s license was suspended, and he did not have the required motorcycle endorsement. When questioned about the missing plate, he told detectives he had purchased the bike three days prior and painted it just two hours before the stop. He claimed the license plate had been on the motorcycle that morning but must have fallen off.

As the investigation continued, detectives determined the motorcycle had been reported stolen in Lake County approximately one year ago.

Anzualda was taken into custody and a subsequent search revealed he was in possession of methamphetamine.

He now faces a range of charges, including Dealing in Stolen Property, Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Operating a Motorcycle Without an Endorsement, Driving While License Suspended, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Anzualda was also issued citations for his traffic violations.
