‘Stop This Madness’: House Democrats Demand Emergency Session To Block ‘World War III’

Capitol Hill erupted in a firestorm of activity on Tuesday as House Democratic leaders issued a scathing joint statement, branding President Donald Trump “completely unhinged” following his latest threats toward Iran.

The leadership team, headed by Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic Whip Katherine Clark, joined four other top-ranking Democrats to demand that the House be brought back into legislative session immediately.

The move comes in direct response to the President’s suggestion that an entire civilization could face eradication if a deal is not reached. RELATED: ‘A Whole Civilization Will Die Tonight’: Trump Issues Dark Warning As 8 P.M. Deadline Looms

“His statement threatening to eradicate an entire civilization shocks the conscience and requires a decisive congressional response,” the joint statement read. The leadership group argued that the President’s rhetoric has moved beyond standard diplomacy and now poses a direct risk to global stability.

The Democrats are pushing for an immediate vote to curtail military action, specifically seeking to “end this reckless war of choice in the Middle East before Donald Trump plunges our country into World War III.”

The statement frames the current escalation as a self-inflicted crisis that requires urgent legislative intervention to prevent a full-scale conflict.

The plea was also a direct challenge to their colleagues across the aisle. Democratic lawmakers called on House Republicans to prioritize “patriotic duty over party loyalty” and urged them to “join Democrats in stopping this madness.”

The demand for an emergency session highlights a deepening divide in Washington.

While the White House maintains its “maximum pressure” stance, House Democrats are signaling that they view the executive branch’s current trajectory as a catastrophic risk that only Congress has the power to stop.
