SPRING HILL, Fla. – On Thursday, around 1:47 p.m., Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services (HCFES) responded to a residential fire at the 9000 block of Regatta St. HCFES arrived on the scene and found smoke from the roof of a residential home.
Fire crews advanced a hose streams into the structure and discovered the fire was already out and smoldering. There was extensive damage to the inside caused by heat and smoke. The fire extinguished itself prior to arrival.
The owner was not at home at the time of the fire.
There was no extension of fire into the attic and the scene was deemed under control at 2:04 p.m.
The origin and cause are currently being investigated by the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office.
