The Tampa Bay area is looking at a mix of high heat and shifting winds as we head into the final days of March. While the mornings might start off quiet, the National Weather Service is tracking a series of changes that will bring everything from 30 mph gusts to potential afternoon thunderstorms.
Saturday kicks things off with some patchy fog lingering until about 9 a.m., but that will quickly burn off to reveal mostly sunny skies.
Expect a high near 87 degrees with light winds shifting to the north-northeast at 6 to 11 mph.
However, things get a bit more active once the sun goes down. Saturday night will be partly cloudy and notably windy, with a low around 63 and northeast gusts reaching as high as 29 mph.
The breezy conditions carry over into Sunday. Highs will drop slightly to near 80 degrees under mostly sunny skies, but keep an eye on the clock—there is a 20 percent chance of showers popping up after 2 p.m.

Winds will stay steady from the east at 14 to 16 mph, gusting up to 24 mph. By Sunday night, the chance of rain drops to 10 percent before 8 p.m., with a low staying around 63.
As the new work week begins, the humidity and storm chances start to climb. Monday will see a high near 85, but the afternoon brings a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m.
These storms could linger into the evening, with a 30 percent chance of activity before 8 p.m. and a low of 63. Tuesday follows a similar pattern: partly sunny skies and a high of 86, with a 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
The middle of the week looks slightly drier and warmer. Wednesday and Thursday will both be mostly sunny to clear, with highs climbing from 87 to 88 degrees.
Lows will hover in the mid-60s. By Friday, the heat peaks at a high near 89 degrees, though the work week will wrap up with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms returning to the forecast.
