TAMPA, Fla. – Weather patterns in Tampa are settling into a mild and consistent groove as the week progresses, offering plenty of sunshine before a shift arrives late in the weekend. Today features mostly clear conditions with a high reaching 76 degrees. Light morning winds will pick up slightly from the west at 5 to 9 mph, keeping the air moving comfortably.

As evening falls, clouds will start to gather, and temperatures will dip to a low of 57. Local drivers should be aware of patchy fog expected to develop after 1:00 a.m. and persist into Thursday morning.

Thursday will see a slight uptick in the warmth with a high of 77. While the morning remains foggy, the afternoon brings a 20 percent chance of light showers after 1:00 p.m. This pattern of early morning fog and mostly sunny afternoons continues through Friday, with high temperatures holding steady at 77 degrees.

The weekend starts off even warmer. Saturday is forecast to reach 81 degrees under partly sunny skies. However, by Sunday, the atmosphere turns more active. There is a 60 percent chance of rain, with showers likely starting in the afternoon. Winds will also pick up, gusting as high as 25 mph.

This unsettled weather is expected to linger into the start of next week. For Washington’s Birthday on Monday, residents can expect a 30 percent chance of lingering showers and thunderstorms, though the sun should break through for a high of 75. Looking further ahead to Tuesday, the region returns to tranquil, sunny conditions with a high near 78.
