Supporters of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis seek to help former President Donald Trump become an un-Florida Man by offering to help him move to California.

They were responding to Trump’s rants last week about his rival, who has yet to declare as a presidential candidate.

Despite having fled New York City in 2019 to become a Palm Beach resident, and despite that more than 1,000 people a day flock to Florida, many of them refugees from Democratic-run states and cities, Trump derided the Republican governor for making Florida among the “worst places” to live in America.

On top of that, Trump sided with Disney in the company’s brawl with DeSantis over the Parental Rights in Education law, he blasted DeSantis for the “squatter mess,” and he praised left-wing Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California for doing a better job than the Florida Republican.

Then, a Trump spokesman went full-bore unhinged.

“The real DeSantis record is one of misery and despair,” said Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement.

“He has left a wake of destruction all across Florida and people are hurting because he has spent more time playing public relations games instead of actually doing the hard-work needed to improve the lives of the people he represents.”

Cheung also said that as DeSantis has been running a “shadow campaign for president,” Florida was allowed “to tumble into complete and total delinquency and destruction.”

On Saturday, DeSantis’ team had had enough.

According to the New York Post, a super PAC backing the governor offered to raise money to help Trump relocate to another state — California.

Chris Jankowski, CEO of Never Back Down PAC, said in a statement:

“Donald Trump has so deeply disparaged the state of Florida by calling it the ‘worst state,’ we at Never Back Down will help him leave by offering financial assistance to help him move to his beloved California, so he can be close to his good buddy Gavin Newsom, whom he loves so intensely and gets along with so well.”

“The good news is that since so many people are moving to the state of Florida, thanks to the incredible success of Governor Ron DeSantis, no one will notice when Trump leaves,” Jankowski added. “The state of Florida will be better off when Trump takes his Soros-fueled, dumpster fire of a campaign to San Francisco, where it will fit right in.”

In a 2-minute video accompanying the statement, Never Back Down spokesman Ken Cuccinelli, the former attorney general of Virginia, said, “America’s future is Ron DeSantis.”

“Ron DeSantis doesn’t just talk. He acts. But most of all he never backs down,” said Cuccinelli, then citing DeSantis’ record on cultural issues.

“It’s time for fresh conservative leadership.”
