Suspect That Murdered A Mom In Front Of Her Kids Identified

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – Police in St. Petersburg are investigating a death after a 27-year-old woman was found dead in her car early Saturday evening.

Detectives have identified Benjamin Robert Williams aka “Bambi”, 38, as the suspect in Saturday’s shooting death of Joana Peca.

According to police, just after 5:30 pm Saturday, a 911 call came in with a report of a person shot in the 100 block of 60th St. S.

Officers arrived and found Joana Peca, 27, dead from an apparent gunshot wound inside her vehicle. 

Police say her two young children were also found inside of the vehicle, unharmed, but terrified.

“Two young children tonight are going to go to bed without their mother,” said St. Pete Police PIO Sandra Bentil.

A warrant has been issued for William’s arrest and SPPD is actively searching for him. Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5000 for information that leads to an arrest.

**Benjamin Williams is deemed to be armed and dangerous.**

He is linked to several open homicide investigations.
