WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — The search for a Winter Haven man accused of a violent domestic attack has concluded after the suspect, Raymond Martin Mikeal III, turned himself in to law enforcement.

The Winter Haven Police Department (WHPD) confirmed late Friday that Mikeal, 37, is now in custody at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Bookin facility. The department extended its gratitude to the public, whose assistance in sharing the original alert contributed to the “positive outcome.”

Mikeal was the subject of a manhunt following an incident on Friday, October 2, 2025, where he allegedly engaged in a brutal physical assault against a female victim inside a residence. According to the original police report, a verbal argument quickly escalated when Mikeal reportedly grabbed the victim’s phone and slammed it to the ground.

The attack then turned physical.

The police report states that Mikeal struck the victim multiple times. When the victim attempted to flee, Mikeal allegedly threw her to the floor and stomped on her numerous times. The violence continued as he reportedly grabbed her neck with one hand, restricting her breathing, while simultaneously striking her face with his other hand.

The victim was ultimately able to escape and seek help. By the time Winter Haven Police arrived at the scene, Mikeal had fled the area.

Mikeal faces a host of serious charges, including Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, False Imprisonment, Domestic Battery by Strangulation, Criminal Mischief, and Tampering with a witness (Depriving 9-1-1).
