Liberals claim comments by former President Donald Trump caused the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol - which some of them also assert was an attempted “insurrection” intended to overthrow the federal government.

Suspect Who Ran Over 18-Year-Old “Republican Extremist” Faces 10 Years After Guilty Plea

Shannon Brandt, 42, faces a maximum 10-year prison term in the death of Cayler Ellingson, 18.

President Joe Biden keeps saying that the “extreme MAGA Republicans” are causing all of America’s problems. Let’s see if Biden has anything to say when someone took him at his word and killed one of those alleged right-wing extremists.

According to CBS News, which surprisingly reported on the case, North Dakota resident Shannon Brandt pled guilty to manslaughter in the death of 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson last September.

As The Free Press reported, Brandt claimed he ran over Ellingson with his SUV during a street-dance event because he believed the teenager was part of a “Republican extremist group.” The incident apparently occurred after an argument about politics.

North Dakota cops soon reported that there was no evidence Ellingson was part of any extremist group.

Fox News reported earlier this month that Brandt was initially charged with criminal vehicular homicide, later upgraded to felony murder.

He also was charged with leaving the scene of a crash that resulted in death.

It’s unclear why the charge was changed. Brandt was scheduled for trial on May 30.

CBS News reported on Friday that in exchange for Brandt’s guilty plea, prosecutors dismissed the charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Brandt faces up to 10 years in prison.

Brandt’s lawyer, Mark Friese, told local media the case was nothing more than a “tragic accident.”
