TAMPA, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is investigating a series of four suspicious fires, believed to be linked, that occurred early Tuesday morning, March 9th, 2025.
The fires, which occurred within a short timeframe, have raised concerns of arson. The incidents began at approximately 2:45 a.m. and include:
- Smoke Bodega Smoke Shop at 6911 Sheldon Road
- Secrets Gentleman’s Club at 8829 West Hillsborough Avenue
- A vehicle in the parking lot of 8829 West Hillsborough Avenue
- Curaleaf Dispensary at 10612 Sheldon Road

At the Secrets Gentleman’s Club, staff members were able to control the fires with portable fire extinguishers before HCFR crews arrived to fully extinguish them. At the Curaleaf Dispensary, HCFR crews responded to an external fire and prevented it from spreading to the building’s interior.
The most significant damage occurred at the Smoke Bodega Smoke Shop on Sheldon Road.
HCFR investigators are working in conjunction with Tampa Fire Rescue to determine if there are any connections to the recent Pink Pony fire and the related arson arrest.
This investigation remains active and ongoing.
