PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A crash in Holiday on Tuesday, October 7, resulted in a dramatic scene when an SUV left the road, collided with a fence and pool, became airborne before crashing into a home, injuring four people, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 PM on Riverlawn Court. The FHP report states that a 46-year-old Holiday woman was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe westbound when she suffered a medical emergency just east of Bahia Avenue, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.
The SUV accelerated and veered off the road, entering the property at 3226 Bahia Drive. In rapid succession, the vehicle struck a chain link fence and then a wood fence before colliding with the edge of the residence’s swimming pool.
Upon impact with the pool, the vehicle became airborne, striking the east side of the home. The force of the crash caused the SUV to fully enter the home.
Inside the home, two women, aged 40 and 42, were injured. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The driver and a nine-year-old male passenger in the Santa Fe both suffered minor injuries. They were also transported to a local hospital.
Authorities have not released further details on the nature of the driver’s medical emergency.
