CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. – The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) wrapped up two major drug operations this past week, leading to several arrests and a significant haul of narcotics across the county.
The first raid took place on April 22 at a home on South Briarwood Terrace in Homosassa. Following tips regarding ongoing drug activity at the residence, the SIU and the SWAT team arrived with a search warrant.
After occupants failed to respond to commands to exit, SWAT members moved in and found five people scattered throughout the property and accessory buildings.
All five individuals were detained safely. During the search, detectives uncovered a mix of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and prescription pills, along with a wide variety of drug paraphernalia. Officials noted that the property had been a recurring source of concern for neighbors.

The five people found on-site were arrested on various charges, including possession of controlled substances and paraphernalia.
The following day, April 23, investigators shifted their focus to Inverness. Working alongside federal agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the SIU executed another search warrant at a home on Seminole Avenue. This operation was the culmination of a months-long investigation into a local drug trafficking network.
Authorities detained everyone inside the Inverness home, including two people who already had active warrants for trafficking large amounts of methamphetamine.
A search of the premises turned up cocaine and paraphernalia linked to trafficking operations. In total, four individuals were arrested in connection with this long-term case, all facing trafficking-related charges.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, these two operations underscore the ongoing collaboration between local detectives, SWAT units, and federal partners. “Their continued efforts remove dangerous substances from our streets and protect the safety and well-being of Citrus County residents,” the office stated following the arrests.
