A desperate attempt to get quick cash ended with a four-year prison sentence for Kewarren Anderson last week. The 40-year-old, known to some as “Tony the Tiger,” admitted he was homeless and simply “needed some money” when he climbed through the drive-thru window of an Ocala Taco Bell just after midnight on July 8, 2025.
Anderson arrived with a strange disguise—he was shirtless, with a gray shirt wrapped around his head to hide his face. Once inside the restaurant on College Road, he didn’t use a gun or a knife. Instead, he grabbed a large rock and used it to threaten the staff.
The robbery didn’t go as planned.
Anderson chased two employees out the side door and toward a nearby Twistee Treat, but he never actually got any money.

He fled on foot, but he didn’t get far. An Ocala Police K-9 unit quickly picked up his scent and tracked him to an Amscot down the street.
Officers found him hiding behind a dumpster, where he had tried to stash his gray shirt and black sandals underneath the bin.
Anderson waived his rights and confessed on the spot to Officer C. Scott, admitting he used the rock as a weapon.
He pleaded his case in court this month but was sentenced to four years in state prison, with credit for the time he already spent in the Marion County Jail.
