Participants in Florida’s Statewide Alligator Hunt and Super Hunt can now log their harvested alligators directly from their smartphones starting August 15. The state has added an online reporting feature to the official Fish | Hunt FL mobile app, streamlining how hunters record their catch.
Under the updated process, hunters must still report each harvest within 24 hours or before transferring the alligator carcass to another person or processor.
To file a report digitally, users log into their account on the Fish | Hunt FL app, select the “hunting” tab, and tap “Alligator Harvest Reports.”
For hunters operating in remote areas without reliable cellular reception, a temporary reporting option remains in place.
If service is unavailable prior to transferring a carcass, hunters may complete a paper temporary harvest transfer log. The harvest details must then be officially submitted through the app within 24 hours.
State guidelines require temporary transfer logs to include specific details: the permittee’s legal name, CITES tag number, harvest date, the county and water body where the alligator was taken, the animal’s total length in feet and inches, the date and time of the transfer, and the legal name of the party receiving the carcass.
